Councillor Daniel Fusi has been unanimously elected as Deputy Chair at the Central Darling Shire Council’s first Rural and Remote Council meeting held in Wlicannia.
Yesterday was an historic day for the Council, with the first meeting held under the new Rural and Remote Council model. The meeting officially saw Central Darling Shire move out of Administration after a period of more than 10 years.
The organisation’s new Councillors, including Cr Fusi (pictured) were sworn into office ahead of the meeting.
“One of the first items of business was the election of a Deputy Chair. The Council unanimously elected Councillor Daniel Fusi to the role. Councillor Fusi is congratulated on his appointment,” the Council said in a statement.
“Council considered a lengthy agenda with items including setting the meeting dates for the 2026 Council meetings, the audited financial statements for 2024/25, the quarterly budget review and appointed consultants to develop the Community Strategic Plan.”
