Griffith in the northern Riverina region of NSW has been recognised as one of the nation’s top travel destinations, being voted number 63 in Australia’s 100 Best Towns to Visit list.
Compiled by Australian Traveller magazine, the recognition places Griffith firmly on the national tourism map, said Tourism Manager, Mirella Guidolin.
She said the accolade reflects ongoing efforts to promote Griffith’s unique identity, support local businesses and strengthen tourism opportunities across the region.
“Being included in Australia’s 100 Best Towns list shines a well-deserved spotlight on Griffith and reinforces what we already know, that this is a place people love to visit, stay a while, and return time and time again,” said Ms Guidolin.
“It reflects the strength of our local food and wine scene, our welcoming community and the unique experiences visitors can only
find here.”
The annual list is curated by a panel of 15 well-known Australians and tourism industry experts and celebrates destinations across the country that offer standout experiences for visitors, from natural attractions and food scenes through to culture, heritage and local
character.
Described in the feature as “all food, wine and Italian heritage vibes,” Griffith was highlighted for its strong culinary reputation, rich multicultural history and growing appeal as a must-visit regional destination.
Griffith is in good company, with towns such as Bicheno, Tasmania ranked 1, Esperance, WA ranked 25 and Cairns, Queensland 56. The full list can be found in the latest edition of Australian Traveller.
