Gilgandra Shire Council has commenced the recruitment process to find a permanent General Manager.
The position is being advertised through specialist local government executive recruitment firm Leading Roles, with applications closing Monday, 14 September.
Mayor, Doug Batten said finding the right person for the role was an important step for Council as it continued to deliver major projects and plan for the future. Â
“The General Manager will play a key leading role in continuing to deliver for our community, progressing Council’s strategic priorities and overseeing major projects, including the new Sewer Treatment Plant, Gilgandra Recreation Centre and the wider Hunter Park Precinct,” said Mayor Batten.
“Council has an ambition to grow our population Towards 5000, and we need strong leadership to help us build on the foundations that have been established and take advantage of the opportunities ahead.
“With so many exciting projects underway and planned for the future, we look forward to a comprehensive recruitment process to identify the right leader to take Council forward and build on the momentum we have created over recent years.”
Council has engaged Leading Roles to deliver the recruitment process, with the appointment to be overseen by Council’s Recruitment Panel and conducted in accordance with the NSW Office of Local Government’s Guidelines for the Appointment and Oversight of General Managers.
Kathryn Larkin will continue as Interim General Manager while the recruitment process is undertaken.
