Georges River Council is expanding public access to Jubilee Stadium following its adoption of a new Sport Access Policy and revised Grants and Donations Policy.
Together, the two policies provide a consistent and transparent framework for the allocation and use of Council-managed facilities.
The Council says the Sport Access Policy, developed in collaboration with the Sports Advisory Committee, ensures Jubilee Stadium and its facilities are allocated fairly, providing equitable opportunities for community groups, schools and local sporting clubs to access the venue.
The revised Grants and Donations Policy makes all hireable, non-contracted facilities eligible for event and venue hire grants. This enables community groups to apply for financial support to host events at Jubilee Stadium, helping remove barriers and create new opportunities for participation.
“Jubilee Stadium has been the site of many sporting achievements, but it’s not just for elite athletes,” said Mayor, Elise Borg.
“These new policies will make the stadium and its facilities fairer and more accessible for everyone, giving local clubs, schools, and community groups the chance to get participate.
“This is all part of Council’s Action Plan for an active Georges River, helping our community stay active, healthy, and connected.”
The Council says the stadium offers a range of hireable event spaces, including Chairman’s Club, Legend’s Club and Deck, and the Captain’s Lounge.
“These versatile spaces boasting natural light, elegant design, and views over Botany Bay are ideal for school and corporate events, community gatherings, and special celebrations. With expert event coordination and tailored hospitality by Bayview Functions and Events, Jubilee Stadium transforms every occasion into a memorable experience,” Council said in a statement.
