Croft Road in Cudlee Creek and Tiers Road in Lenswood are about to undergo a significant upgrade and road sealing, thanks to funding secured through Council and the Federal Special Local Roads Program (SLRP).
Adelaide Hills Council will contribute $600,000 to Croft Road in Cudlee Creek that will be matched by the SLRP, the Council said in a statement.
The works will include minor widening, new recycled pavement, changes in geometry to better meet modern design standards, and sealing with spray seal from Fox Creek Road / Cold Stores Road, to the Fox Creek Mountain Bike Park car park.
“This stretch of Croft Road was selected for this significant upgrade due to its pivotal role in enhancing access for tourists heading to the bike park,” Council said.
The project’s objectives include not only improving safety and reducing the maintenance burden currently presented by a high volume of traffic, but also reducing the impact of dust on adjoining properties.”
Tiers Road in Lenswood will also receive joint funding for road safety improvements, with Council committing $550,000 and the SLRP also contributing $550,000.
These works include road widening and pavement reconstruction from Pedare Park Road to approximately 500m east of Baldocks Road.
“Keeping the community safe on our roads is a key priority for Council,” said Mayor, Jan-Claire Wisdom.
“We’re pleased to receive these critical pieces of funding and will continue to work with both the State and Federal Government to improve our roads and provide a safer road environment for all users.”
