Friendly alpaca honoured at Goulburn Mulwaree Awards

Five outstanding community champions – and one friendly alpaca – have been recognised at the 2026 Goulburn Mulwaree Awards, presented during the Lilac City Festival celebrations on the October Long Weekend.

Mayor, Nina Dillon congratulated recipients Jacki Waugh, Heather West, Robert Fletcher and Hephner the Alpaca, Natalie Jeffrey, and Anne Wiggan OAM, acknowledging their exceptional service to the community.

“These recipients demonstrate the very best of Goulburn Mulwaree. Through their dedication, generosity and leadership, they have made a lasting contribution to the lives of others and helped strengthen our community,” Mayor Dillon said.

Jacki Waugh was recognised for decades of volunteer service supporting local organisations and major events.

Heather West was honoured for her work in environmental conservation, heritage preservation and local history.

Robert Fletcher and Hephner the Alpaca received recognition for their advocacy of mental health and wellbeing and their charitable fundraising efforts.

Natalie Jeffrey was acknowledged for her community advocacy, charitable service and commitment to local residents.

Anne Wiggan OAM was celebrated for her extensive contribution to the Bungonia community through heritage, volunteer and community organisations.

The Goulburn Mulwaree Awards recognise residents whose voluntary contributions have made an outstanding impact on the local community. Nominations are accepted throughout the year, ensuring exceptional local achievements continue to be celebrated.
