WA’s Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council, Chief Executive Officer, Marcus Geisler, has today announced his retirement after five years of service to the organisation.
In a statement, the Council described Mr Geisler as “a visionary leader” who exemplified unwavering commitment, strategic foresight, and a passion for circular economy and innovation.
“Under his guidance, the company has achieved unprecedented milestones such as diversification and significant revenue growth, developed and delivered a EMRC FOGO strategy, expanded the EMRC market presence, delivered the Hazelmere Waste Transfer station, moved towards commissioning the Circular Energy Recovery plant and fostered a culture of excellence,” said Council chair, Filomena Piffaretti.
“He has also championed employee development, diversity, and community engagement.
As Marcus Geisler embarks on this new chapter of life, I express my heartfelt gratitude for his tireless dedication. His leadership has inspired us all, and we are confident that his legacy will continue to resonate within the EMRC.”
Chair Piffaretti said the Council will now embark on a recruitment process to identify the most suitable candidate to ensure the ongoing delivery of waste management services and to drive circular economy-based initiatives and sustainable benefits for the region.
“On behalf of the EMRC Council and the entire EMRC team, we wish Marcus a well-deserved retirement,” she said.
