Deadline extended for EV destination charging grants

The NSW Government is investing $20 million to assist eligible regional NSW councils and businesses by co-funding up to 75% of the cost to purchase and install EV chargers.

The deadline for Round 2 applications has been extended and will now close on Friday 2 August 2024.

“Take advantage of the opportunity to step into a growing market and give Electric Vehicle (EV) drivers a reason to visit and stay longer at your location,” Local Government NSW (LGNSW) said in a statement.

“The Australian vehicle landscape is being transformed. EV ownership is growing and EV drivers are now planning their trips around EV charging locations.

“Bring new visitors to your area. Attract tourists and locals. Install EV chargers in your LGA and encourage tourism businesses to do the same.”
