Toowoomba Regional Council says record numbers of customers are accessing the organisation’s online real estate portal.
The portal received almost 13,000 hits during the 2024/25 financial year, with around 1,100 visits on average each month – a jump of more than 20% on previous year figures.
The free portal allows real estate agents and solicitors to look up the cost of rates and charges and other property information on any property across the Toowoomba Region using the lot on plan for that particular property.
Council Finance portfolio spokesperson, Councillor Gary Gardner said the portal was delivering a great customer experience.
“Council is constantly looking at ways to deliver positive outcomes for our residents and customers and our online real estate portal is achieving that,” he said.
“With more than 1,100 hits each month, the portal allows real estate agents and solicitors to access property information without the need for making direct contact with Council which frees up Council’s customer service resources and delivers a great customer experience.
“The portal is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week and allows users to search using lot on plan details with information provided such as property location, property description (lot on plan), half-yearly rates and charges including water charges, outstanding balance, current water meter readings, land area and land valuation.
“Council also offers a service whereby our rates team would be happy to assist real estate agents and solicitors with basic training in how to use the system and I would encourage any business looking for assistance to get in touch on 131 872,” Cr Gardner said.
The portal is available at www.tr.qld.gov.au/realestateportal.
