City of Coffs Harbour Council has applauded the local tourism industry after 11 local businesses, attractions and experiences were named as finalists in the 2026 North Coast Regional Tourism Awards.
The Council says the short-list points to the diversity and quality of tourism experiences available across the Coffs Coast, highlighting the region’s strength in accommodation, attractions, events, visitor experiences, food and beverage, arts and culture, and eco-tourism.
The Council’s award-winning Yarrila Arts and Museum (YAM) is among the finalists, capping an already stellar year for the gallery which brought the blockbuster RELICS: A New World Rises exhibition to the region.Â
YAM is a finalist in the Cultural Tourism category which recognises businesses that foster greater understanding and appreciation of culture, history, heritage and the arts, with judging based on:
- Cultural Responsibility
- Excellence in Marketing
- Excellence in Customer Service; and
- Excellence in Sustainable and Responsible Business.
“To have so many local operators named as being among the best of the best shows their absolute commitment to providing a professional, quality offering,” said Mayor, Nikki Williams.Â
“The tourism industry is super competitive and it’s much broader than often imagined, as it overlaps with traditional shopping retail which can be an additional drawcard for visitors.”
The Coffs Coast finalists are:Â
Aanuka Beach House
C-Change Adventures
Coffs Coast Accommodation
Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary
Coffs Harbour Trike and Private Tours
Hoey Moey (Park Beach Hotel Motel)

City Economic Development and Tourism Section Leader, Nicole McLennan said the strong representation reflects the dedication and innovation of local tourism operators.Â
“Having 11 Coffs Coast businesses and experiences recognised as finalists is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the passion, professionalism and commitment of our local tourism industry,” Ms McLennan said.
“These businesses play an important role in shaping the visitor experience and contribute significantly to the local economy by attracting visitors, supporting jobs and showcasing everything that makes Coffs a desirable destination.”
The North Coast Regional Tourism Awards recognise excellence across the industry and celebrate businesses which demonstrate outstanding customer service, innovation, sustainability and business performance.
The 2026 awards – along with a 2026 North Coast Tourism Symposium – will be held in Coffs Harbour, at Pacific Bay Resort on 30 July.
“I congratulate all finalists on this well-deserved recognition and look forward to celebrating their success at the gala awards,” Ms McLennan said.
