City of Melville Council has received $75,000 through a Lotterywest grant to enhance and expand its arts and cultural offerings for the south metropolitan community.
The grant will support the staging of major events, including the popular Melville Summer Music series, currently underway, and Melville Midwinter, set for winter 2025.
“On behalf of the City of Melville, I extend a heartfelt thank you to Lotterywest and the State Government,” said Mayor, Katy Mair.
“This generous support has been, and will continue to be, instrumental in bringing events like Melville Summer Music and Melville Midwinter to life.
“It’s inspiring to see our community come together to enjoy live music and local talent in our beautiful parklands.”
The grant aligns with the Council’s commitment to fostering community connection and facilitating vibrant activated local places through arts and cultural activities.
Commitment to arts and cultural events was also highlighted in the March 2024 endorsement of a new Library and Cultural Centre (LCC) – the largest and most significant cultural development project ever to be undertaken by the City of Melville.
