Campbelltown City Council says it will continue its commitment to the prevention of domestic and family violence by hosting Champions of Change; a community event at Campbelltown Catholic Club, on Saturday 21 October.
Held in partnership with the NSW Council for Pacific Communities and South West Multicultural Community Centre, with support from Campbelltown Catholic Club, the 4pm to 7pm event will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions and connect attendees with domestic violence services and organisations.
“In our Domestic and Family Violence Strategy, we’ve outlined a clear commitment to combatting domestic and family violence, especially for those impacted in our community,” said Mayor, George Greiss.
“Champions of Change is an opportunity for locals to come together and learn more about the actions they can take to prevent domestic and family violence in a local community context.”
Guest keynote speakers at the event will include Matt and Sarah Brown (pictured), authors of New Zealand bestselling book and activist organisation, She Is Not Your Rehab.
A further discussion panel, moderated by Professor Jioji Ravulo, will engage guest speakers on how local communities can play key roles in the prevention of domestic and family violence.
