Bayside Council is set to host a forum focused on engaging and working effectively and more inclusively with its local LGBTQI+ community.
The forum will be held at Rowers on Cooks River in Wolli Creek on Saturday 16 September from 4 – 6pm.
“The forum will be an opportunity for residents who identify as LGBTQI+ to express their views about how Council can work with, and support, them and their families,” said Mayor, Christina Curry (pictured).
“The forum will also provide opportunities for LGBTQI+ people to engage with local services who provide support.”
ACON, a Sydney-based community and health service, will facilitate the forum as part of their Pride Inclusion Programs.
ACON has nearly 40 years’ experience working with LGBTQI+ communities, including helping workplaces, sporting clubs and communities be more inclusive of LGBTQI+ people.
The forum is free and open to anyone who wants to learn more about the diversity of LGBTQI+ people, or how to work with, or deliver services to this community.
