$900k for new Orange roundabout

NSW

Orange City Council has received $900,000 in funding from the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program to upgrade the intersection of Hill and Moulder Streets.

Construction on the new single-lane roundabout is set to shortly begin.

“A roundabout at this intersection is desperately needed,” said Orange Mayor, Jason Hamling.

“You can be stuck giving way there for a couple of minutes at times and it can really be dangerous. This new roundabout will smooth traffic flow and make the intersection safer for both drivers and pedestrians.”

Along with the new roundabout, work will also include the construction of concrete footpaths, electricity pole relocation, street tree removal, stormwater drainage, water main renewals and line marking.

Work is planned to start on Monday 29 April, with construction estimated to take approximately 12 weeks, weather permitting.
