A striking new artwork has been unveiled at Griffith Regional Aquatic Leisure Centre (GRALC), celebrating the creativity, talent and perspectives of local young people.
The large-scale YOUth Vision: Mosaic Mural was created by 20 local participants who transformed their ideas into a vibrant artwork depicting a picnic at Scenic Hill overlooking Griffith.
It features 36 individual canvas tiles developed through a co-design process, with young people from across Griffith helping to shape the mural’s themes, design and creative direction.Â
“The mural is a colourful reflection of how young people see, experience and connect with our community, and now has a permanent home at GRALC for everyone to enjoy,” Griffith City Council said in a statement at the mural’s unveiling.
The YOUth Vision: Mosaic Mural was delivered by ConnectYouth 2680 with funding from the NSW Department of Communities and Justice.
“The project builds on conversations, insights and ideas shared through the Changemakers Forum and Life Skills Workshops, creating a vibrant and lasting expression of youth perspectives,” the Council said.
