Wingecarribee council releases draft interaction policy

Wingecarribee Shire Council is asking residents to provide feedback on its Draft Councillor and Staff Interaction Policy, which has gone on public exhibition.

“The purpose of this draft policy is to establish positive, effective and professional working relationships between councillors and staff,” said Council’s Interim Deputy General Manager, Marissa Racomelara.

“It provides a framework for councillors in exercising their civic duties by specifically addressing their ability to interact and receive advice from authorised staff.”

She said the draft policy was in line with the NSW Office of Local Government requirements and consistent with the Local Government Act 1993.

Submissions and feedback close on 29 August 2021. Following the close of the exhibition period, a final report considering feedback will be presented to the incoming Council.
