The Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia Limited (CMCA) has declared Wilcannia an RV Friendly Town, Central Darling Shire Council has announced.
The CMCA has grown since 1986 to become the largest recreational vehicle (RV) club in the southern hemisphere, now boasting over 68,000 members and a fleet of more than 34,000 vehicles.
The CMCA’s accreditation of Wilcannia as part of the RV Friendly Town program means its campervan and motorhome club members will receive information about the town. Wilcannia’s Victory Caravan Park will be listed in the monthly club magazine, The Wanderer.
The caravan park will also be advertised in the CMCA monthly e-newsletter, going out to a database of over 28,000 recipients.
Under the program, RV travellers visiting Wilcannia will benefit from:
- Street parking, on Reid Street near the Post Office and Baker Park, suitable for motorhomes, campervans and caravans;
- Short and long-term overnight parking (96 hours) for self-contained motorhomes, campervans and caravans at Victory Caravan Park;
- Permit fees will be $20 unpowered site per night;
- Free public dump point located outside Wilcannia Oval, Myers Street;
- Potable water available outside Wilcannia Oval, Myers Street.
