Whitsunday Regional Council will this month host a new, free training program, for construction professionals, focusing on Water Sensitive Urban Design and Erosion and Sediment Control.
Council says the training will provide the construction sector with knowledge to implement best practice water quality controls that will improve local urban waterways, lakes and Great Barrier Reef.
“We all have an important role in being stewards for our waterways and if every development site takes responsibility, it makes a huge difference,” Council said in a statement.
The training is being held at the Reef Gateway from 8:30am – 5pm:
- Water Sensitive Urban Design Workshop – Tuesday & Wednesday 15, 16 October 2024
- Erosion Sediment Control Course – Monday 21 October 2024
