Town of Gawler Council has announced the appointment of Chris Cowley as the organisation’s new Chief Executive Officer.
In a statement, the Council said Mr Cowley brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished track record in local government, with more than 20 years of experience, most recently as CEO with the City of Burnside Council.
“Mr Cowley has demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing our Council and community,” the Council said.
It said Mr Cowley’s appointment marked a significant step forward for the Town of Gawler, as it continues to prioritise financial sustainability, transparency, and community engagement.
“On behalf of the Council Members, I am thrilled to welcome Chris Cowley as our new CEO,” said Mayor, Karen Redman.
“Chris’s innovative approach and proven dedication to Local Government, both at metropolitan and regional Councils, makes him the ideal leader to guide our Council as we continue to strive for growth, and financial sustainability, while enhancing community well-being for our community.
“Chris has a clear vision for our future, with extensive experience which will be invaluable as we work together to achieve our strategic goals. I, along with all Councillors, look forward to his leadership and the positive impact it will have on our community,” she said.
Mr Cowley will begin in the role on Monday 18 November.
