The Shire of Murray Council is calling on the local community to help shape the Shire’s future as it reviews its Council Plan 2023 – 2033.
The three-week consultation is taking place from now until 9 November. After this time, the Shire will update the Council Plan and adjust services according to feedback, said Shire President, Douglas McLarty.
“In 2022, our community came together to shape a vision for the future of Murray,” said President McLarty.
“Through these conversations, ideas and feedback, the community helped create the Shire of Murray’s Plan for the Future. This 10-year plan reflected what matters to our community and helps guide the Shire’s decisions and priorities.
“Four years later, and the community is growing, new opportunities are emerging and priorities are shifting. So, the Shire is now consulting with community to make sure the Plan still hits the mark and remains true to changing needs.”

President McLarty said the consultation is an opportunity for the community to reflect on what matters most and help ensure the Council Plan continues to reflect community priorities.
“We want to hear from the people who live, work, study and spend time in our community. What do you love about where you live? What do you want to protect? And what do you want to see happen next?”
“Your ideas, your hopes and your priorities are important in helping us understand whether our plan is still focused on the things that matter most to our community.”
