Shire of Denmark Deputy to step down

Shire of Denmark Councillor, Nathan Devenport, has announced he will step down as Deputy President for the Shire of Denmark, but will remain on Council.

Cr Devenport cited personal reasons for his wish to step back from his role as Deputy President, which commenced following his selection for the position in October last year.

Shire President, Aaron Wiggins, thanked Cr Devenport (pictured) for his work and support as Deputy, and for the value he has provided to the Shire.

“It is no small thing to stand up to represent your community, but Cr Devenport demonstrated a commitment to the Shire of Denmark in taking on the position of Deputy,” said President Wiggins.

“The perspective and understanding he has provided have been for the benefit of our community.”

Whilst stepping back from the role of Deputy President, Cr Devenport will remain a Councillor, a position he was elected to in 2023. His current term is set to expire next year.

The position of Deputy Shire President is now vacant and will be determined at the upcoming Ordinary Council Meeting on 28 July.
