Central Highlands Regional Council has commenced its search for a new permanent chief executive officer (CEO), with applications now open for the position.
A panel has been appointed to oversee the process, consisting of Mayor, Janice Moriarty; Deputy Mayor, Karen Newman; Councillors Rachael Cruwys and Chris Whiteman, and independent member, Greg Hoffman PSM. The panel will work together to determine the preferred candidate(s) on behalf of council.
Council has also appointed an external recruitment agency to support the search and assist the panel.
Mayor Moriarty said the organisation’s new leader would help the council to deliver its corporate plan and work with staff to meet the current and future needs of the Central Highlands.
“We are committed to finding a CEO with the experience, expertise and passion to lead our organisation and deliver on council’s vision for the Central Highlands,” she said.
“This is a challenging and rewarding role, and the right person will understand our community values while working with councillors and staff to improve the liveability of towns and communities across the region.”
Applications are due to close on 20 July. Following a shortlisting and interview process undertaken by the selection committee, finalists will be recommended to the whole of Council for additional interviews. Council hopes to announce the successful candidate at its general council meeting on 18 August, subject to the appointment process being completed.
Graeme Kanofski is currently acting in the CEO role.
