Regional tourism show goes on for Ballarat

The City of Ballarat is set to host the 2021 Australian Regional Tourism Convention (ARTC) from October 11-13.

“Ballarat is thrilled to be able to host the Australian Regional Tourism Convention. The City of Ballarat and our tourism partners are leaders in regional tourism and we relish the opportunity to show the great work being done in our region to inspire other tourism providers,” said Ballarat Mayor, Daniel Moloney.

He said the ART Convention was a “must-attend event” for local councils, regional tourism organisations, tourism professionals and businesses, and government personnel wanting to contribute to the future of regional tourism in Australia, with the 2021 Convention theme ‘A Robust Visitor Economy – navigating our new future’.

The event was held virtually last year due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“We are thrilled to announce the 2021 Convention will be happening in person this year in Victoria. After the year we have all experienced, it’s time to come together in person and feel connected,” said ART Chair, Coralie Bell.

“The City of Ballarat is going through rapid growth and delivers amazing visitor experiences and are committed to growing visitation to their region, providing an ideal location for a vibrant and inspiring convention.”

Regarded as the most significant annual event for anyone engaged in regional tourism, the convention provides delegates the opportunity to connect, share ideas and engage in robust discussions around opportunities and challenges being faced by the industry, she said.

Australian Regional Tourism will soon be calling for expressions of interest for presenters.
