Hiring a Randwick community space is now quicker and more convenient with Randwick City Council launching a new online booking system this week.
People can now search for venues by date, location and features, and then book online. They can also view the live availability of each venue.
Mayor, Dylan Parker welcomed the upgrade, saying the new system was a part of Council’s commitment to make Council services more customer focused.
“Whether you’re planning a birthday party, community meeting, or cultural event, it’s now easier to find the right space and lock it in,” Mayor Parker said.
“It’s about giving our community more control, more convenience, and better service.”
Social worker, Louise Smith, creates space for connection through her cooking classes at Maroubra Senior Citizens Centre.
Community members can choose from 11 venues to hire, ranging from small spaces such as Burnie Park Community Centre in Clovelly to larger buildings such as Matraville Youth and Cultural Hall, which can accommodate up to 100 people.
More spaces, including sports fields, sports courts, parks and other open spaces, will be available to book via the new system in the coming years.
“This is just the beginning,” Mayor Parker said. “We’ll be expanding the online booking platform over the next few years to include sports fields, courts, parks and other outdoor spaces. It’s part of our commitment to making Council services and spaces easier to access for everyone.”
The new online booking platform can be found on Randwick City Council’s website: https://www.randwick.nsw.gov.au/venues.
