Five hundred drones lit up Elizabeth Quay over the weekend, as revellers gathered to close out the summer season with the final City of Light show.
City of Perth Council Lord Mayor, Basil Zempilas said the two-night spectacular was a fitting finale to the City’s biggest summer season yet.
“With close to 20,000 people filling Elizabeth Quay over the two nights, it was a glorious showcase of what our City has to offer. I am so proud of how we’ve lit up the City, it’s been our biggest summer season of events with record crowds and spend outcomes,” Lord Mayor Zempilas said.
“A massive thanks to Drone Sky Shows and Cardile Fireworks who worked with our team to put on a spectacular show.
“And thank you to those huge crowds for being so well behaved and respectful, making it the perfect family-friendly event. And, of course, a final thank you to Lotterywest for partnering with the City of Perth to make both nights of the event such a success.”
With the last of the City of Light Shows now delivered, the Council’s calendar of events still has plenty in store in coming weeks, the Lord Mayor said.
“Summer may be winding down, but the City events calendar is still cranking up. With Perth Festival in full swing and the Lotterywest Boorloo Heritage Festival just around the corner, there’s plenty for everyone to enjoy in the City year-round.”
