Penrith appoints new GM

Penrith City Council has announced the appointment of a new General Manager.

The Council’s Director Corporate Services, Andrew Moore, has been promoted into the GM role.

Mayor, Tricia Hitchen said Mr Moore brings a wealth of experience to the position, after 21 years with the Council.

“We’re thrilled to be appointing Andrew Moore as our new General Manager. Andrew’s experience, commercial and financial acumen, leadership skills, and passion for Penrith’s community set him apart,” she said.

“We have fantastic, talented people working at Penrith Council, so I’m not surprised that the best candidate has come from within the organisation.

“We’re confident that Andrew will provide strong leadership to our staff and will continue to deliver strong financial stewardship and positive outcomes for our community.”

Mr Moore said he was looking forward to starting in the role of General Manager saying, “I’m honoured to have been selected as the next General Manager of Penrith City Council. I am committed to continuing the great work already unfolding across the City and working collaboratively with our stakeholders and the community to ensure that Penrith continues to be a great place to live, work and visit.

“I’m excited to lead the opportunities I see for Penrith’s future and I am committed to working with the Council to see our shared vision for Penrith delivered.”

He will commence in the role from 24 April. His appointment follows the resignation of Warwick Winn in October last year, with former General Manager Alan Stoneham appointed during the interim.
