Devonport City Councillor, Steve Martin, has received a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for outstanding community service and volunteer work across Tasmania.
Cr Martin originally joined the Council in 2009 and was elected Mayor in 2011, before being re-elected to a four-year term in 2014.
In 2018, he departed the organisation for a stint as Senator for Tasmania for just over 12 months. He stood for re-election at the 2019 Federal Election but was unsuccessful.
He is also President at Children’s Book Council of Australia – Tasmanian Branch; President of the Tasmanian Masters Games Inc and Founder and President of Toast for Kids Charity Inc.
