Moama Lights will shine even brighter this year after receiving a $20,000 funding boost from the NSW Government.
Murray River Council has secured the funding under the Incubator Event stream of the Government’s 2022 Regional Event Fund, which will assist in the staging and marketing of the light show set to launch again in July.
The Incubator Event stream offers seed funding to events in regional NSW to support their first or second year of activity.
Murray River Council Mayor, Chris Bilkey welcomed the funding boost.
“We are pleased that the event has been recognised for its broad appeal and ability to promote tourism and attract visitation,” he said.
“With over 15,000 tickets registered in the event’s first year, Moama Lights plays an important role in fuelling our local economy by putting people in our accommodation, diners in our restaurants and shoppers in our local stores.”
“We certainly welcome the NSW Government’s support as we continue to build this iconic event.”
Moama Lights will run from 31 July – 21 August.
With an enticing new show, brand new stories and a new backdrop along the upgraded footbridges at Horseshoe Lagoon, it is set to be bigger and better than ever, Council said in a statement.
