North Sydney Council has become the first Australian council to implement Objective Build, a purpose-built platform which integrates with existing council technology and NSW Government planning services
The platform is set to assist the Council to strengthen planning service delivery amid ongoing reform and increasing development assessment complexity.
Integrating with Council’s existing technology environment and NSW Government planning services, Objective Build will reduce administrative complexity, improve visibility across development applications and adapt as planning legislation and regulatory requirements change.
Global VP of Local Government Solutions at Objective, Andrea Breen says the company worked with North Sydney Council and other NSW councils to help shape the next generation platform designed specifically for the local government planning environment.
“We are delighted to see that the first deployment of Objective Build will support a local government community of mixed density housing, diverse businesses and iconic landmarks,” said Ms Breen.
Council Director of Corporate Services, Olena Tulubinska said strengthening the delivery of planning services for residents and ratepayers is a key priority for the council.
“Ensuring that we have the right housing to meet the needs of a growing population in our area is a critical pillar in our 2025-35 Community Strategic Plan,” said Ms Tulubinska.
“Implementing Objective Build will help us to provide efficient, transparent and accountable development assessments which is an important step in achieving this goal.
Designed by planners for planners, Objective Build is a purpose-built platform supporting the development assessment process from lodgement through to determination. Delivered as secure Software as a Service, it connects planning workflows, spatial information, legislation, assessment templates and reporting together in one operational platform which integrates with third party services including NSW Planning Portal and NSW legislation helping planners assess applications against up-to-date regulations.
Objective is currently the only technology provider with solutions spanning strategic and statutory planning and integrating with the systems and information sources councils use every day.
