Wollondilly Shire Council has signed a new contract for the management and operation of its swimming pools.
Council has awarded the contract to Belgravia Health and Leisure Group Pty Ltd, following an open and competitive tender process including independent financial assessment.
Council will now move to the next step of transitioning the management of both the Wollondilly Leisure Centre and Warragamba Swimming Pool to the new operator, with a changeover period under way.
“Throughout the process, we have sought to get the best outcome including service quality and price for the operation of our swimming pools, on behalf of our communities,” said Mayor, Matt Gould.
“We expect that there will be minimal disruption to users and no changes to fees during the transition period, as the necessary adjustments are made. We know how important these facilities are for the health and wellbeing of our residents.
“We hope that all the work that has already been done at the Wollondilly Leisure Centre and at the Warragamba Pool can be developed even further, leading to even more residents joining up and taking advantage of these great community spaces.”
Council expects that local employees will continue to be engaged by the new operator.
