Murrindindi Shire’s new Councillors have been officially sworn in, with a pledge to bring fresh perspectives and a strong commitment to serving the community.
The elected Councillors are Cr Sandice McAulay (Cathedral Ward), Cr Sue Carpenter (Cheviot Ward), Cr Anita Carr (Eildon Ward), Cr Eric Lording (King Parrot Ward), Cr Jodi Adams (Kinglake Ward), Cr Paul Hildebrand (Koriella Ward) and Cr Damien Gallagher (Red Gate Ward).
During the swearing-in ceremony, each Councillor pledged an Oath or Affirmation of Office to act in the Shire’s best interests, delivering their roles with integrity, impartiality, and the utmost dedication.
On 20 November, the Council will hold its first official meeting, where a new Mayor will be elected. At this meeting, Councillors will also be appointed a Portfolio for the first year of their term.
Council CEO, Livia Bonazzi warmly welcomed the new team.
“On behalf of all Murrindindi Shire Council staff, we are excited to work alongside our new and returning Councillors, whose diverse perspectives and expertise will undoubtedly enrich our mission. Together, we aim to achieve positive outcomes for our community over the next four years,” she said.
“A special thank you goes out to our outgoing Councillors, who have shown exceptional dedication and left a meaningful legacy for the Murrindindi Shire community.
“Your service has embodied our values of Accountability, Integrity, Empathy and Professionalism, and has made a lasting impact.”
