Strathfield Council has elected Councillor Sandy Reddy as its new Mayor, with Councillor Esther Kim also named as the organisation’s new Deputy Mayor.
Councillor Reddy said serving the community as Mayor is both a privilege and a responsibility.
“It is an honour to be elected Mayor and have the opportunity to serve the Strathfield local government area. Our community is a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family, and I am committed to working with my fellow councillors, Council staff and community to build on
what makes our area special,” she said.
“The decisions we make today will shape our community for years to come. I look forward to listening to our community, working collaboratively and ensuring Council remains focused on delivering positive outcomes for everyone who calls the Strathfield area home.”
Newly elected Deputy Mayor, Councillor Kim said she was looking forward to working alongside the Mayor and Council to deliver meaningful outcomes for the community.
“It is a privilege to take on the role of Deputy Mayor and to serve our local community. Local government is about the things people see and experience every day. Our roads, parks, facilities, services, neighbourhoods and the places that bring our community together,” she said.
“We have an important responsibility to make thoughtful decisions in our Chambers, identify opportunities for improvement and deliver projects that leave a lasting legacy.”
Council thanked outgoing Mayor, Councillor Benjamin Cai, and outgoing Deputy Mayor, Sandy Reddy for their service to the community.
