Central Darling Shire Council has announced the appointment of a new General Manager, with John Sevil to take up the role in March.
Mr Sevil (pictured) has previously held a number of senior local government roles, including as Director Finance and Corporate Strategy at Narromine Shire Council and Manager Corporate Services at Norfolk Island Regional Council, where he has overseen finance, IT, customer service, regulatory functions and commercial enterprises.
“He is recognised for bringing financial discipline, modernising systems, and embedding governance frameworks that support transparency and sustainable service delivery,” said Council Chair, Bob Stewart.
“John is motivated by the opportunity to work closely with the elected Council to deliver on strategic priorities, strengthen organisational capability, and foster resilient communities across the Shire. His pragmatic, outcomes-driven leadership style will ensure challenges are
met with transparency, integrity, and a strong sense of public service.
“John is keen to engage with the community, and a priority will be meeting his staff and visiting the communities across Central Darling Shire,” Chair Stewart said.
The new General Manager will commence duties on Monday 9 March.
