New CEO for Karoonda East Murray announced

The District Council of Karoonda East Murray has announced the appointment of Scott Reardon as the organisation’s new Chief Executive Officer.

In a statement, the Council said Mr Reardon brings a wealth of knowledge to Karoonda with a broad experience in senior positions in local government, currently Acting CEO of the District Council of Coober Pedy. Prior to this he has been in a number of senior roles at the Town of Walkerville including Group Manager Governance and Compliance and also Acting CEO for various periods of time. Mr Reardon has also worked in senior roles at the City of Holdfast Bay Council and SA Department of Justice.

Mayor Phillips welcomed Mr Reardon to Karoonda East Murray.

“With the appointment of Scott we are excited about the prospect of strong leadership, creating new momentum for both staff and the community. His wealth of knowledge and understanding of rural communities makes him a valuable addition to the DCKEM team,” Mayor Phillips said.

Mr Reardon said he was enthusiastic about the future and the opportunities that lie ahead.

“Given the opportunity to lead such a dedicated team in a rural community is a privilege I am excited to begin,” he said.

Mr Reardon is due to commence with Council mid-July.
