New Central Coast Council emerges from administration

Central Coast Council has returned to a democratically-elected Council following four years in administration, with a new Mayor and Deputy Mayor named to lead the organisation.

The Council was put into administration in October 2020 under the direction of the Minister for Local Government, as a result of a financial crisis.

On 14 September, Central Coast residents were once again asked to cast their votes for a new Council – with 15 new Councillors elected.

Council’s new Mayor is Councillor Lawrie McKinna, with Deputy Mayor Councillor Douglas Eaton OAM (both pictured).

The 15 Councillors are:

Budgewoi Ward: Helen Crowley, Douglas Eaton OAM, John Mouland;
Gosford East Ward: Lawrie McKinna, Sharon Walsh, Jared Wright;
Gosford West Ward: Trent McWaide, Belinda Neal, Jane Smith;
The Entrance Ward: Margot Castles, Rachel Stanton, Corinne Lamont;
Wyong Ward: Kyla Daniels, Kyle MacGregor, John McNamara.

The Councillors will serve for four years before the next Local Government Election in 2028.
