New Ashburton Shire councillor sworn in

The Shire of Ashburton Council has sworn in Rosanne Kapo as the Elected Member for the Tom Price Ward.

The swearing in ceremony follows the 2024 Extraordinary Election, conducted by the WA Electoral Commission which closed on 15 March, as a result of Councillor Tina Mladenovic’s resignation in November last year.

Councillor Kapor said she is dedicated and committed to her new position.

“As an engaged Tom Price community member and a mother of four, it is my pleasure to represent the Tom Price Ward and contribute to the Shire of Ashburton’s growth,” she said.

Shire President, Audra Smith expressed her well wishes to the new appointee.

“Councillor Kapor is a valued member of our Tom Price community and has proven both her knowledge and her work ethic throughout her campaign,” she said.

I look forward to seeing the positive impact her actions will have on our Council and our community more broadly.”

Councillor Kapor’s term will expire on 16 October 2027.
