New app for Rockhampton readers

Rockhampton Regional Council Library members can now browse, borrow and enjoy even more digital content with eAudiobooks, eBooks and digital magazines offered via the award-winning Libby app.

Communities Councillor, Drew Wickerson says the introduction of the new platform is welcome news for library members, who will now be able to borrow and enjoy more digital resources 24/7 on Libby.

“For those who enjoy the convenience of reading through their hand held device or computer, this app will make our digital resources even more accessible,” Cr Wickerson said.

“Readers can browse the library’s digital collection, instantly borrow titles and start reading or listening for free with a current  library card.

“This is a great example of our library staff finding new and innovative ways to improve our service delivery to our community.

“It is perfect for those who are already using our digital content, and also for those who have been thinking about joining, but may be struggling to find the time to visit the library in person.

“Accessing this service is simple, just download the app or visit libbyapp.com, select Rockhampton Regional Library Service and sign in using your library card.

“If you aren’t already a Library member, becoming a member is free and can be done online, or in person at any library branch.”

This service is compatible with all major computers and devices, iPhone®, iPad®, Android™ phones and tablets and Chromebook™. All titles borrowed through the app will automatically expire at the end of the lending period and there are no late fees. Readers can also download titles onto Libby for offline use.
