Murrindindi trials RV rest stop for travellers

Murrindindi Shire Council has announced the launch of the Marysville Recreational Vehicle (RV) Rest Stop Trial.

The initiative, supported by the Council and Gallipoli Park Marysville, was initially recognised as a key long-term project in the Marysville Community Plan 2020-2022, aimed at achieving ‘RV Friendly’ accreditation for Marysville through the Caravan and Motorhome Club of Australia.

The Council says the project is gaining traction, with the Marysville RV Rest Stop set to open on 1 February 2025.

“A significant amount of planning has gone into reaching this important milestone, and we are excited to welcome visitors to experience and trial this new facility over the coming 12 months,” Council said in a statement.

Located in Gallipoli Park Marysville, near the intersection of Falls Road and Mt Kitchener Avenue, this six-space site will accommodate fully self-contained recreational vehicles (RVs) with a maximum stay of 72 hours. The site will be managed by volunteers from the Gallipoli Park Precinct Committee of Management on behalf of Murrindindi Shire Council.

The Council is encouraging Rest Stop visitors to provide feedback around their stay through a short survey to assist in evaluating the success of the trial.
