Molong town centre activation nears completion

Cabonne Council has today announced the Molong Town Centre Activation Project is nearing completion.

The final piece to complete the project – until sealing and linemarking is undertaken in the spring – is hotmix patching of Bank Street between Watson Street and Gidley Street which is due to take place on Saturday.

For the works to be undertaken in a quick and effective manner, the works will be managed in stages as a rolling closure to ensure access is maintained to the main street and businesses, the Council said.

The project has been completed three weeks ahead of the original scheduled completion date.

The Molong Town Centre Activation Project aims to develop Molong as a key regional destination and leveraging off the town’s unique characteristics and offerings, to diversify the local economy and grow the town as a local business and tourism hub.

The project includes:

  • New and updated street furniture;
  • Street tree planting, and installation of solar fairy lights;
  • New pedestrian safe crossing points;
  • New open space and accompanying open space furniture.
