Mildura Rural City Council has announced the appointment of the organisation’s first General Manager Strategy and Growth.
As General Manager for Strategy and Growth, the Council says Peter Alexander (pictured) will be responsible for areas including:
- strategic planning
- statutory planning
- arts, culture and venues
- future planning
- economic development and tourism.
Council Chief Executive Officer, Martin Hawson said Mr Alexander’s extensive track record of transformative strategic leadership at national and international level made him the ideal candidate to lead the new department.
“The creation of Strategy and Growth was one of the actions to come out of our Organisational Sustainability Review and will play a key role in progressing our region,” Mr Hawson said.
“Peter’s vast and varied experience in the corporate sector, combined with his most recent role with Mildura Regional Development, positions him well to lead a team responsible for the strategic growth of our community and our region.”
He will begin in the role on Monday 23 October and oversee the transition of economic development and tourism to Mildura Rural City Council.
