Master plan for SA airports released

An economic development master plan providing steps to assist regional councils in improving the financial sustainability of their airports is now available for the use South Australian councils.

The project, funded by the Local Government Research and Development Scheme, was carried out by the University of Adelaide.

The university engaged Hudson and Howells consultants to fulfil the airport industry related expertise and skills needed to complete this project.

The project used the Kingscote Airport in Kangaroo Island as a case study and identified the steps needed to develop a regional airport master plan.

Regional airport owners will be able to utilise the Kingscote Airport Economic Masterplan to develop plans to improve the financial sustainability of their airports.

Further project information including a copy of the masterplan is available through the research library.
