The City of Greater Bendigo Council is seeking experienced, qualified tradespeople to submit to the Trade Services Tender that is now open.
It is the first time in five years the tender has been advertised. The Council’s annual maintenance program preserves existing, new and heritage buildings as well as a range of other infrastructure.
The Council says skills in the following areas are needed:
- Building (minor)
- Building maintenance
- Plumbing and gas fitting
- Electrical, electronic services and data communications
- Painting
- Glazing and glass repairs
- Graffiti removal and pressure washing
- Roller shutters and doors
- Roof safety systems
- Hoists and adult change table
Council CEO, Andrew Cooney said tenders such as this were an opportunity for the City to support small business.
“Successful tenders need to represent value for money and at this stage we are looking for businesses that are willing to be part of a panel. A panel then allows staff to select from a pool of pre-qualified trades to complete particular jobs,” Mr Cooney said.
“The City has more than 1,200 public buildings and structures that it is responsible for, so demand for trades to help maintain these assets is never-ending. There is also a 20-point weighting for local content when evaluating submissions.
“Wherever possible, the City welcomes local businesses being in the mix to support our maintenance requirements and I encourage them to apply.”
Contract CT000710 Provision of Various Trade Services is being offered as a 3-year contract, with the option to extend by a further 4 years.
Sole Traders, Partnerships, Companies, Social Enterprises and Trusts are welcome to apply. The tender is available to view and download on VendorPanel, via the Council website.
Submissions close Wednesday June 12 at 3pm. Submissions can only be received via VendorPanel.
