Lease to deliver community services in Laverton

Hobsons Bay City Council is calling on community and social service organisations to express interest in leasing a significant space for service delivery at the Laverton Community Hub.

Currently set up with 22 consulting and specialist rooms, the Council says the leasing opportunity is ideal for not-for-profit, community health, social support, or community development services agencies, and other organisations committed to positive local impact.

Organisations with a strong track record of delivering measurable social impact for diverse communities, and with established relationships with stakeholders and within the local community service sector and networks and are especially encouraged to apply.

Council can consider flexible lease arrangements to suit the needs of a wide range of organisations, with applicants able to nominate their preferred lease term, with options ranging from five to 15 years.

“The space at the Laverton Community Hub will enable services in what is a very strategic location, both in relation to our own community of Laverton, and the fast-growing western metropolitan region. It is important to support this diverse community,” said Mayor, Diana Grima.

“As a life-long Laverton local, I have seen first-hand the positive impact the hub has had on the community.”

The proximity of the site to Laverton train station and major bus routes, as well as more than 50 public car spaces provides convenient access for staff and visitors.

Laverton is a diverse community in Hobsons Bay, and is currently home to more than 5,200 residents, with nearly half of the population speaking a language other than English. The suburb is expected to grow by more than 21% over the next two decades.

Expressions of interest for the lease close at midday on Monday 15 December.
