New Zealand-based advanced manufacturer, Pultron Composites, has won a million-dollar prime business spot in the City of Moreton Bay following a Council-run competition that attracted entries from six countries.
The Council’s ‘Ultimate HQ’ prize includes five years free rent for a headquarters space at Moreton Bay Central, $250,000 fit-out contribution, and professional support from competition partners BDO, Constant Contact, K&L Gates, Telstra, Westpac and Innovate Moreton Bay.
The competition attracted entries from six countries, reached more than six million people and represented a field of applicants worth over $500 million in potential capital investment and 1,000 prospective jobs.
Mayor, Peter Flannery said the result showcases a city committed to attracting high‑value industries and supporting globally ambitious companies.
“The calibre and diversity of companies we welcomed this week shows City of Moreton Bay is fast becoming an investment destination of choice in South-East Queensland,” Mayor Flannery said.
“This competition pairs our great lifestyle and location with serious economic ambition, a strong education partner, and a business community that collaborates to create high‑value local jobs.”
The Ultimate HQ initiative is part of Council’s broader investment attraction program to boost high‑skill job creation, deepen industry research collaboration, and support companies ready to scale from the City of Moreton Bay.
Council says the Investor Safari program showcased the city through unique experiences including the innovative ‘Beach Boardroom’ at Bribie Island, tours of local industries and facilities, and finalist pitches to judges from Council, UniSC and competition partners.
UniSC Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Helen Bartlett said the University was excited to work with the winner to accelerate research and workforce outcomes.
“We look forward to exploring research partnerships and talent pathways with Pultron Composites,” Professor Bartlett said.
“Their headquarters at Moreton Bay Central will provide direct access to UniSC researchers, facilities and students across engineering, technology and business, opening opportunities for experimentation, collaboration and real‑world impact.”
Pultron Composites is a long established advanced manufacturer specialising in corrosion resistant composite technologies. Its Mateenbar™ glass fibre reinforced polymer rebar is used in major infrastructure projects internationally, contributing to lower carbon, longer life construction solutions.
A spokesperson for Pultron Composites said the company is excited to establish its new headquarters in the City of Moreton Bay.
“Winning the Ultimate HQ is an incredible opportunity. The Investor Safari gave us a genuine feel for the innovation ecosystem and growth momentum in the City,” they said.
“We’re looking forward to building here, partnering with UniSC, and tapping into the region’s strengths and opportunities.”
