Griffith City Council is inviting residents to help celebrate Local Government Week 2024.
Held from 29 July – 4 August 2024, Local Government Week is designed to showcase the work councils do in their local communities, including the wide variety of services they provide.
This year, Griffith City Council is using the week to say thank you to the selfless volunteers who support Council and to highlight some of the services and facilities the community enjoys.
Mayor, Doug Curran said the week was always a good opportunity to let the community know more about what Council does.
“Many people aren’t fully aware of the wide range of services Council provides. There’s so much more beyond just roads, rates, and rubbish. Recent conversations have shown that our community values the efforts of our Council and its staff,” he said.
“I invite residents to get involved in the activities we have planned throughout the week.”
Council will hold a Thank You Morning Tea for Council Volunteers on Tuesday 30 July 2024 to honour the unwavering commitment of our facility volunteers and numerous Committee members who generously give their time.”
