Glenelg council throws support behind Olympic hopeful

Glenelg Shire Council is throwing its support behind Casterton athlete, Kathryn Mitchell, who will tomorrow begin her hunt for Olympic glory in the qualifying rounds of the women’s javelin event in Paris.

“We wish Kathryn all the best of luck in her fourth Olympics – and she’s been to five Commonwealth games, including the gold medal in 2018, and four World Championships for good measure,” the Council said in a statement.

“This is another exciting chapter in her amazing story – and something that can be added to her wonderful statue at Island Park.”

The final for the women’s javelin event will take place on Sunday.
