Georges River Council celebrates LG Excellence Awards

Georges River Council has celebrated its recent achievements at the NSW Local Government Excellence Awards.

The Council was named as a finalist nine times in eight categories and took home three awards.

Georges River Council Mayor, Sam Elmir said the awards event was the pinnacle celebration of the exceptional projects and leaders in the local government sector and the commitment to promote innovation and excellence through vibrant communities.

“I would like to congratulate all the Council teams who were finalists and have won awards. These accolades are a testament to their hard work, dedication, and excellence,” he said.

“At Georges River Council we all aim to deliver for our community and these awards are great recognition for the year the council staff have had.”

The Awards celebrate outstanding achievement and promote innovation and continuous improvement within the NSW local government sector.

Nominees undergo a rigorous process of assessment and evaluation by their peers alongside independent judges and distinguished industry leaders, to be announced as finalists in their chosen category.

Winners and finalists enjoy the recognition of their work as the Awards’ prestige highlights their projects to the community, key stakeholders and media.
