Fiona Blair new Brimbank CEO

Fiona Blair has been appointed the new CEO of Victoria’s Brimbank City Council.

Ms Blair (pictured) is a highly regarded leader in local and state government, with extensive experience as a senior executive. She was recognised for her leadership in the inaugural Top 50 Public Sector Women award in 2017.

Most recently Ms Blair was the Executive Director of Transport Planning at the Victorian Government’s Department of Transport, where she led the development of the Victorian Bus Plan and integrated transport planning.

Prior to this, she held senior executive roles at the City of Port Phillip, where she oversaw the council’s Infrastructure and Amenity division responsible for delivering high quality services and projects for the community.

Ms Blair played key roles in the transformation of the South Melbourne Market, and the planning of Fishermans Bend, Australia’s largest urban renewal area.

“Brimbank Council is absolutely thrilled to have appointed such an inclusive, strategic and experienced leader as the new CEO of Brimbank,” said Brimbank Mayor, Jasmin Nguyen.

“I congratulate Fiona and welcome her to Council.

“Fiona has the skills, experience and love of the West to bounce Brimbank back and make us the best City and community we can be.

“Fiona will be an enormous asset to the organisation as we continue to advocate to State and Federal Government to make sure our community gets a fair go and a fair share.

“I would also like to thank Warren Roberts for his great work stepping out of retirement and into the role of interim CEO while we undertook the recruitment process for the position.”

She will start in the role on 24 January, replacing Interim CEO Warren Roberts.
