Australian singer-songwriter, Ella Hooper, will headline Albury’s favourite free live music series Music in the Gardens this weekend.
The much-loved concert series hosted by Albury City Council has been rebranded to Music on the Murray for the month of March, located at the Noreuil Park Foreshore on Sunday 15 March from 1pm – 3pm.
It will be a rockstar welcome with award-winning Hooper being the first act to take to the stage this season.
Albury Mayor, Kevin Mack encouraged the community to take advantage of the warmer weather and the riverside location.
“Ella Hooper is an icon of Australian music, and it’s incredibly exciting to welcome her to perform right here in Albury,” Mayor Mack said.
“Music on the Murray is all about bringing our community together in one of the most beautiful locations in our city. I encourage everyone to pack a picnic rug, gather their family and friends, and enjoy a fantastic afternoon of live music, great local food and the stunning backdrop of the Murray River.”
Ella Hooper burst onto the Australian music scene as the technicolour front woman of Killing Heidi – the teenage band from the bush who went on to explode the noughties, claiming pop rock dominion over the turn of the millennium with a string of hit singles, no.1 album, sold out tours, Rolling Stone covers and more.
The Music in the Gardens series returns on Sunday 15 April, when The Backyard Banjo Club brings their high-energy sound to the Albury Botanic Gardens.
More details will be announced closer to the date.
