Councillor Ashley Hall has been elected Mayor of Edward River Council at an Extraordinary Council meeting this week.
He will serve a two-year term, leading the Council until September 2026.
Councillor Kellie Crossley was elected to the position of Deputy Mayor. She will also serve a two-year term.
During the inaugural meeting, all nine Councillors were sworn in for a four-year term.
Interim Chief Executive Officer Gary Arnold congratulated Mr Hall and Ms Crossley on their appointments.
“As we embark on this new chapter, I look forward to collaborating closely with Mayor Hall and Deputy Mayor Crossley,” he said.
“Along with the rest of the Council, we will work together to create positive change and foster a thriving community for all in Edward River.
“I’d also like to thank all citizens who put their names and energy forward in running for Council – your passion and commitment to our community are commendable,” said Mr Arnold.
Mayor Hall and Deputy Mayor Crossley will be supported by the other seven elected Councillors:

- Craig Druitt
- Linda Fawns
- Leanne Mulham
- Shannon Sampson
- Frank Schofield.
